My name is Ruben Escandon, Jr. and I founded Elpasoweddings.net and From this Moment Wedding Ministries after developing a love for weddings and seeing the need for an alternative to the traditional sterile wedding usually held in the Courthouse and to provide couples an alternative when they for whatever reason could not participate in wedding services in the institutional church. After 5 years of working in the courthouse, I saw couples enter the courthouse to obtain their marriage licenses, dressed in the traditional bridal gown and tuxedos only to stand before a Judge and have a cold and unrehearsed 2 minute ceremony. That after having to run around several floors looking for a judge to perform the ceremony in the first place. Usually it meant Attorneys and Defendants were your witnesses and most of the time it meant waiting around till a judge was available.
In 2005 I became an Ordained Minister and chose to devote myself to providing couples that opportunity to experience a personalized and customized Wedding Ceremony which met their needs, beliefs and personal sentiments. I personally write each ceremony and present it from the heart in a professional and personal manner. I meet with the couples I marry before the wedding and get to know them and what they are about and use this information in personalizing thier ceremony. I take pride in the fact that several of my weddings come by word of mouth and several from referrals from other Officiants, Judges and Wedding Coordinators.
